October 10, 2010 Meeting

•  Meeting opened at 1:05 P.M.

Last meeting minutes reading was waived and seconded.

Committee reports:

•  Grounds committee : No more mowing. We are looking for a tractor/mower. Maybe have a tractor committee to do a look around for one, then submit it for the club to consider. Need to mend a few small holes in the club fly to preserve it for future events and use. Have a sign up sheet for those who rent the club fly's and other materials. Hooters, by 1 as an experiment, try for a year and see how it works out. Passed and seconded.

•  Membership committee: A possible new applicant named Dave Hasler was brought to our attention by Jane Oakes.

•  Joey: Suggested to give members a free admission as reward for help and work.

•  David Irwin suggested, only members who do work and possibly members that work the range/work parties and other various ways they help out should receive a possible discount on fees. Tabled til the January meeting. Rich Hise - "leave it alone cheap pricks . lol"

•  Bull of the woods should have at least 5 participants to give gun away. If not enough participants then another prize will be given and the gun kept for next year. Jane Oakes suggested we put something in our pamphlet for this as well, add to the website ? Suggested to have the gun displayed and mentioned to all with children of age to participate at the gate along with a sign up sheet at the gate as well as what we have in the pre registration sheet ? Steve gates commented that opening ceremony is Weds so it would be better to mention this on Friday when most of the kids are in camp.

•  Steve Gates mentioned that next year is our 25 year anniversary. Would be nice to make a paper with old stories or new from members about different experiences while camping with the club, could be fun to hear all the different stories from members. Steve offered to put this together for us, so if you have any stories to tell please send them to Steve Gates. Anyone wishing to help him with this please get a hold of him.

•  Suggested we extend days for Joey and Leo camps so that when event is done if we need to come back to retrieve our tents or would like to stay and extra day or so we can leave our tents and do so per our permit to be on the Greenway.. passed and seconded.

•  Suggestions for making extra money for the club were as follows: David Irwin suggested a gun raffle, Rich Hise asked where he planned to sell the tickets, the answer was "anywhere". Unka Larry said it was tried before, didn't work well, would be better to raffle a trailer/or cash or something like that.

•  Comments were made about our equipment shed, we need to reorganize it and have people put things back where they get them from.

•  Joey: Dave Reed read the report for Joey, we made $1,148.14 for the Joey this year. Dave thanked all the members for their help in making this a great Joey.

•  For this years Joey 2011, we need volunteers to help. please contact Larry Marangoni if you'd like to help out. David Irwin volunteered to help with the woodswalk. Lynn suggested we take photos of prize winners to post and keep a yearly display of. Tentative work dates are April 30th, May 7th and May 13th.

•  Larry Marangoni announced that he was stepping down as Club President in January so we need to think about who we'd like to elect for club President. Meeting ended at 2:30 P.M.
