The Little Beard Club'sMeeting Minutes_________________________________________________________ March 19, 2011 Meeting
Last meeting minutes reading waived. Treasurer report read and approved. It was announced that Rose Burton was resigning as Secretary/Treasurer. Karen Hise was nominated, seconded and approved.
1) Hooters (port-a-potty's) for Club: Larry Marangoni has called and is waiting for a return call.. 2) Club fly needs repair: Gordie Hubbell has volunteered his time. Repairs will be done before the Joey. 3) Sign repairs: Will be done @ 1st. Joey work party. Samantha and Heather will repaint the signs. 4) Cash raffle: Approved, tickets will be $5.00 each. Prizes are $500,$250 and $100. Larry Marangoni will have the tickets printed. There will be 500 tickets to be sold. We need to sell $170 to cover prizes. Any profits to be deposited into the savings account earmarked for tractor fund. Drawing will be at the 2012 Joey. 5) First Aid Kits: volunteer needed to replenish kits. Nickie Mattice was volunteered. 6) Membership Committee: New membership applications: Aaron Davis, Kathy Davis, Maeve Kane and James Mallek. Sarah Oakes will turn 21 in May. C.T. Oakes requested she be voted into Club (as per by-laws). Raise of hands was used instead of secret ballet. She was approved as a new member. Oneno vote was cast by Rich Hise. 7) Activities: See schedule. Open camp is open to any member. Advertising is being done for the Boyd and Parker event. June 3rd is parade in York. Anyone wishing to participate meet at Uncle larry McClurg's house. 8) Historian: Steve Gates asked everyone to bring stories to him. Sandy Hall was thanked for making the cake for 25th anniversary of the Club. 9) Grounds Committee: Not white anymore. 10) Tractor Committee: Larry McClurg said there wasn't enough money to buy a new one. Possibly looking for a used tractor. Mark Carpenter will research. Rich Hise said if tractor works continue to use. Membership in agreement to deal with present tractor. Possibly cut back on mowing. Larry Marangoni volunteered his tractor in case of emergency. 11) Joey: Need someone to run Hawk & Knife. Bo wil be asked if he will do it. Prizes are looking good. David Irwin said the woods walk is planned/done. volunteers are needed for targets. (Not to be targets but to run the stations.) Joey progressing well.
1) Steve Gates asked if Club will donate the club fly again this year for the York Valley Fest on July 30th. Steve will be responsible. Approved by membershp. 2) Joey Money: Put half of money made from Joey into Savings earmarded for tractor. Bonnie motioned to do this as long as the money could be used elsewhere if needed per Club membership vote. Approved by membership. 3) D.E.C. has requested/required that the gate be kept closed but not locked during the Joey. Sue to dall D.E.C. about gate being open on visitor day. The gate needs to be checked periodically to make sure it is closed during day and also closed at night. Suggested gate be manned on visitors day and maybe get a donation or two from the visitors. 4) Louise asked everyone to sign Joey sheet if pre-reg. is not being mailed to them. 5) There was a sign in sheet asking membership if they wanted the newsletter mailed to them, emailed to them or printed fro LBC website. Bonnie motioned to close meeting. A final note: the club would like to thank John Della Penna for volunteering.
